Hi all apologies if this is the wrong board to post on.

I'm travelling to Heathrow airport tomorrow and I've been given daycard tickets via my work but unfortunately these are only zone 1-4. I'm not able to get them to amend it at this point but if push comes to shove what's the best way of sorting it without having to exit at the last zone 4 station and then tap in there and out at Heathrow?

You can buy it as a ticket from Southall, you do not need to leave the train with a paper ticket

If my understanding is correct, since a part of your ticket is a rover/season, your train doesn't even need to stop in Southall.

I have no idea how that would work using London Underground however.

As Day Travelcards are not issued for a zone 1-4 combination, it would be useful to know exactly what ticket you have. Is it a ticket to "Zone U1234 Londn"? If so, this will only cover travel on the underground towards Heathrow and not Elizabeth line services via Southall, and would change what you need to cover the remainder of the journey.

As you mention the best choice is a Southall to Heathrow Rail ticket, and taking the Elizabeth Line. As also mentioned the train doesn’t need to stop at Southall, so you can take any Elizabeth line train. It is not valid on the Heathrow Express.

Yes it would certainly be an interesting choice given they are the same price as an off peak z1-6 travelcard, but also the kind of thing I’d expect from a company.
