Th GWSR are not only building from Toddington to Laverton but also rebuilding of Broadway Station has started.

The internet is full of proposals to build new heritage lines. How many of those will ever progress beyond cyberspace, even to the "muddy field full of junk" stage, is another matter.
There's two groups working on the former S&D at Midsommer Norton & Shillingstone, as well as an internet fantasy exercise to rebuild the whole system.
Northampton & Lamport are extending slowly but surely.
The group at Rushden station are trying to extend slightly.
You could also maybe include the group that's trying to do something with the former line between Malton & Driffield. They've evidently secured a site, so we await developments with interest.

you know how that project is progressing?
It looks very promising, I had a driver experience day the other week on their steam engine and they have about 100m of track and plenty of volunteers visible on a wet Sunday.

At the Kent and East Sussex we are reinstating the line back to our mainline connection at Robertsbridge. Weve recently extended the track to Junction Road we have a gap of about 2 miles and 3 roads to go,

Very interested in getting more info on progress here. Am I right in thinking that the extension between Bodiam and Robertsbridge is a separate organisation with its own rolling stock and infrastructure? If so how is the co-operation between the two groups? The preservation momement as a whole has a terrible history of factionalisation and infighting even between groups with a common aim (latest example - the WHR). I think everyone would love to see Tenterden reconnected to the national network - can you fill us in with a bit more info?

The extension is being built by the Rother Valley Railway whose stated intention is to build the railway and then hand it to the Kent and East Sussex Railway to operate. On the ground the fact is that by far the majority of the volunteers are members of both organisations. I made a spoof route learning video for other KESR train crew earlier in the year from the cab of a class 33. Its on You Tube if your interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzdS9_pTS10. The track extends approximately 400 metres past where the tamper is parked at the end of the clip to the site of the former junction road halt.
If all goes to plan with the paper work its planned that the KESR will run to Junction Road for the first time in nearly 50 years for a couple of special events next year-just dont tell the bluebell!

Paul, many thanks for the info. Very much enjoyed the video and pleasantly surprised at the amount of progress made. Col Stephens would be proud!
