This is astonishing.
I was working a packed commuter train yesterday (6 coaches) and came across a totally life absorbing moment.
First of all, I was working my way through the train when I heard a passenger call out to me " excuse me sir, I think you dropped this ", I went to him and he handed me a crisp new £50 note which had fallen from my pocket whilst giving him his change.
Then, after thanking him profusely for his honesty, I returned to my duties and came across four teenagers with the obligatory hoodie's and seemed to be worse for the wear and tear of alcohol ( sic buckfast). I was prepared for the usual torrent of abuse and tales of why they wouldn't be able to pay their fare, however, I was taken aback when they, each and every one of them insisted that they were going to pay for all four tickets, ( one should never be pre-judgemental), I found this amazing and had never come across this scenario before.
Then, to cap it all, a very pretty young lass who uses this train regularly but never ever spoke or gave eye contact said to me when I approached her " Hi, how are you today ?, I see you lots of times working this train and think you do a wonderful job, you seem just the type of guy I am looking for, here's my mobile number ".

Unfortunately, Carlsberg don't do train passengers,
but if they did, they would probably be the best in the world. :D

I actually believed you until the girl spoke to you!

Making eye contact only breaks the first law of commutting - but speaking to someone you see every day is a hanging offence!

I was buying it until the hoodies, then the girl handing out her number well that kind of unravelled it.

The OP did say a packed commuter train. The pretty young lass, if she had been real, would surely have passed him a note rather than verbally offering him her mobile number. If she had really behaved in the way the OP suggests, I would expect the passengers in the vicinity to have begun cheering or something similar, especially the group of hoodies. Very entertaining read nevertheless.

A passenger approached my ticket office today and asked me for a return to Liverpool. "Returning today?" I asked. "Yes" she said, "but coming back tomorrow".

Carlsberg don't do passengers, so I'm stuck with the real ones.
