I've heard a few rumours of this and was wondering if there is any truth in it.

Seeing as the 153s cannot be DDA compliant there is apparently some talk about un-converting them back into 155s so they can be.

Truth or not?

Porterbrook have declared it wouldn't be economically viable to make the 153s fully compliant.

AKAIK any suggestions about reforming them in to 155s or making them centre cars for 156s are just people's ideas.

However, based on the content of another thread on here DDA would not be the only barrier to keeping 153s in service beyond 2019 due to sagging roofs.

I think there are going to be more issues coming about with the class 153's especially because as stated the bodywork is sagging and it is noticeable.

Personally I dont think its worth it to rebuild the class 153's back into class 155's
