Has anyone else had experiences of trying to get Uber to refund an incorrect fee or fare? I got in one this morning going to Glasgow Airport and the driver apologised and said he didn’t have his pass to operate the drop off gates (apparently private hire have these passes they pay off each month). I suggested to him to drop me off at a nearby hotel where you can walk across from. The barriers were open so there was definitely no fee being charged there. I got my receipt and Uber have charged me the £5 airport drop off fee anyway. Sent a message to support and they told me they are sorry about the way I’m “feeling” but they can’t do anything. I suggested they check with the driver about this but they flat refused. I actually found it all quite shocking. I know it’s “only” a fiver but I am tempted to submit to the card issuer as it just feels wrong that Uber won’t budge. Lesson learned as well to avoid Uber and use the local company wherever possible!
