TBH, I've no preferred brand. However, I do have a powerful aversion to "no name" cheapies. I had a puncture on the rear tyre of my scooter but the tyre place had only one tyre in the right size, so I had to go for it. I don't even remember what name was on the sidewall, but it was a seriously scary experience riding on it. The was sod all grip in the dry and even less in the wet. Even when going around a roundabout at normal speeds I could feel the back of the scoot slipping sideways as the tyre slid and gripped.

If it was sliding around, then surely there was only one option? Pull the throttle wide open and do some power sliding?
When i had my Fiesta, i tried a range of tyres and found Pirelli the best by far. The grip was alot higher and turning the steering wheel was easier
It looks like Michellins have come off the front {forget to check, but that's what's on the back} and the performance was starting to go down. Standing water was quite dangerous as it instantly pulled the car in the direction of the wheel going through a puddle, but i've been out in torrential rain with the new boots tonight, without any problems.
Also, where the old tyres might of started spinning, the new tyres carry on gripping.
The old tyres had this strange centre groove that was just like a racing slick, the new tyres have this groove removed totally {possibly to allow water to flow through}. Although there was plenty of meat on the edges of the tyres, because of this groove, they were illegal :?
Anyway, i'll see how the new boots go and report back 8)
