a rake of these type passed on route to Milford Haven tonight behind a 66. there were no red/blue Murco tanks. Just wondering if these tanks carry a different petro chemical from the refinery?

You would need to look at the hazard plate to determine what the load being carried is
It can range from anything from "crude oil" right through to Jet-A1, which is most common petroleum load carried by rail

Dont hold me to it but that looks like it could be an acid tank. Looking at the number it seems like a 707899...-. But not entirely sure. Think a wagon similar to that came through Carlisle a couple of weeks ago

now and again these rakes (20 to 24ish) will pass Carmarthen going to Robeston and not one is a murco liveried tank - which most of the freight through here consists of. apart from the petroleum, does anything else run to Robeston, like any chemicals needed in the refining process?

Get us a shot of the plate with the orange stickers on it (visible near the end of the tank to the left in your photo) and we'll easily be able to tell you what it is in them- clearly something hazardous (it has an orange diamond of some sort)

looking at a video clip of them passing, all I can see on the orange label is 3Y / 1202 but it's hard to make out. red diamond next to it "flammable liquid"

The 3Y is the Hazchem Emergency Action Code (use foam to extinguish, breathing apparatus to be used, contain substance) 1202 is the UN number and means in this case Gas oil or diesel fuel or heating oil, light.

So then, would it be diesel oil in this case seeing as the Robeston refinery processes petroleum? What if a tank was required to carry a different oil, does it need interior cleansing before to prevent a fuel "mix up"?
