Tyne Valley 156.

The Class 156's in the Tyne Valley route don't work!:roll:

Is the route set up for a paticular 156, Can I have a link to a compatible 156.

Could the route randomizer be interfering?

I am not 100% but i am sure it uses the 156pro from trainsimcentral

Is there a way of changing it so a 143 is used on some, a 158 in others and the 156pro on others ( I cannot find 156pro can I have a link please. )

Off the top of my head it can be done via the route file for that diagram. Alternatively just stick with the randomizer.

Have a look at the BVE FAQ. That's what it's there for - to answer these sort of questions.

Sorted it the route wanted a train called [ONE_class156] My class 156 was calles [cl156].

I made a copy of [cl156] and called it [ONE_class156] so they all work now!

Yesss.... this is the problem when train developers updated their trains, but give them a new name - all the routes need editing!

Presuming that we're talking BVE 4 here, there was a time when the 156 went through different versions. The CURRENT veersion is called Cl156; so, recently, I changed the downloads to reflect this....

There are several versions of the Class 156. v4 is called ONEClass156 (or similar), there is also another version called Cl156pro and the latest version v5 is called Cl156.

Hope this sorts out the confusion.

But where did 156pro go? i remember that being the first update/replacement after the original. Eezypeazy, wasnt the 156pro on the ECML release or the Tyne Valley update?
I am confusing myself now but have no idea why because i am up to date anyway!

Wasn't something to do with sound copyright, & the author or something requested it was removed, hence why'pro' dissapeared? :?

Just don't worry about it... as has been said, version 5 is the latest one, and it uses the Cl156 name.... personally, I think it makes sense for train developers to use the existing names when they update their products, because it saves editing routes....

More than a little annoying though when they do a train that someone else has already done and call it exactly the same thing! I may not for example want the RailNetwork 170 to replace the one I already have that's been done by somebody else!

There are easy ways to get around this problem - for instance, just install a new train somewhere other than the BVE 4 train directory first, then change train folder names as needed, and finally move the new train where it's supposed to go - and if you're worried about an accidental overwrite, maintain a backup of your BVE files. That's a really good idea anyway.

Or just edit the route file manually, there's plenty of places where it explains how to do this, & it's easy as pie once you know how to.
