Two Tunnels Greenway walk Bath

Walked along this route today from Oldfield Park station to Freshford station.

Very enjoyable, the highlight being the tunnels, both on slopes and curves so you soon lose sight of the entrances.

The 2nd one is over a mile long and definitely an unusual experience.

Standing still in an empty tunnel is very eerie and even more so when the violin music starts about half way in.

I walked them both in September. Yes it was a strange experience. Wasn't too sure about the music playing though.

I also last year I rode though Netherton canal tunnel, Birmingham. It's the longest tunnel with a towpath. At 3027 yards it was chilly, dark and damp inside, despite being a warmish day.

The Viaduct Way walk in Winchester is enjoyable as it uses the old 614 metre Hockley Viaduct with some excellent views (and of the M3)

Considering I live less than 100m from the route, I probably should do this at some point! Maybe when it is a bit warmer though!

A group of forum members cycled this a while back, it was very good.

I'd recommend it, and I'd do it again if there was sufficient interest!
