I headed to Llangollen Saturday for what was to be 37240's only passeger workings of the year with the plan of then staying at the Black Lion at Consall for 37075's diesel diagram on the Sunday, unfortunatly 37240 sat down on its first return run between Carrog and Glyndyfrdwy ans was only able to limp on to the station where the train was caped, we were transferred to the following train (Wickham DMU) to rtn to Llangollen while 47449 went to rescue the failure. The following day a points failure at Consall meant trains could not pass on the CVR so one of the two sets had to be caped, this was unsuprisingly the diesel one but the railway agreed to run 37075 top'n'tail with the kettle to keep joe public and those who had come for the 37 as happy as possible in the situation.
