The only tickets from London Terminals (I assume they are starting from a terminal?) to Knebworth are Day returns. So it'll have to be singles. £9-50 each way.

From Wigan, try through tickets first, either EC & Connections (via Doncaster/Peterborough), or VWC & Connections (via Euston). Failing that, try splitting, EMT may give you a good deal from Manchester to Peterborough (but, I doubt it!). Through single fares from £15-00 each way, but they go on sale 12 weeks in advance and sell out fast, so it may be too late now (if you mean July).

If it really is for June, then it's too late anyway!

There are engineering works on Sunday 10th July so the first direct train from London arrives at Knebworth at 11:08. (the 10:36 departure from Kings cross)
Before that is is an hourly rail replacement bus from Welwyn Garden City or Stevenage.

If you get the 08:06 or 09:06 FCC service from Kings Cross & change at WGC onto the bus, the bus arrives at Knebworth at 09:00 or 10:00 respectively. (note that at WGC the buses go from the drop off point below the Howard Centre so you have to walk out of the station, through the shopping centre turn left & down the lift/stairs.

There are also direct trains from Kings cross to Stevenage (I suspect these are running via Hertford North) which I think will be the better option. Knebworth park is nearer by road to Stevenage anyway as the roads all go into Stevenage due to the A1 blocking the direct access to Knebworth village.

FCC service: KX depart at 08:15 arrives SVG at 08:48
EC service: KX Depart at 08:47 arrives SVG at 09:16
FCC service KX depart at 09:15 arrives SVG at 09:47

There will officially be no access to the Festival from Knebworth Station for safety reasons.
If it's like last year there'll be a very good shuttle bus service from Stevenage station to the festival site.
