Certainly... I have a strong suspicion on the country and area, but I won't share if the OP doesn't want it public. The idea of in-cab music which switches off when an alarm or radio is active is definitely not the worst idea I've heard, maybe it could even help with fatigue? That's getting speculative and off-topic though.

Aye it’s quite common in non UK places. We have a lot less *driving for hours on end through the middle of nowhere where you need some external stimulus to keep you focused* areas than other places though, and a lot more *complex areas with lots of signals and other trains where you need to keep completely focused*
