Hello
To cut a very long story short, the penultimate Stan Ex we were on was cancelled at Tottenham Hl due to a broken down freight ahead. The final one was also cancelled and anything north of Broxbourne not on the Hertford branch. We were told by announcement “get this last Hertford train and go as far north as you can, and use a Help Point for a taxi”
I called NRE on the train in advance to limit the wait.
Got to Hertford East approx 00:30, was told on phone taxi was on the way. Refused to give us driver’s number or an ETA. We ended up getting our own uber after numerous calls to NRE (GA number closed). In the hotel at Stansted, we got a call at 02:45!
“Hi, I’m the taxi driver, I’m outside.”
!!!!!!
Greater Anglia refuse to reimburse me the £30 for the Uber as “we did provide a taxi as requested.” HAHAHAHA.
So you’re telling me it can turn up at quarter to three in the morning, but it’s fine because you provided one. If the train had been running, I’d have been in my hotel at 11:30PM.
One for the ombudsman?
