OK I am a confirmed non-twitterer and non facebooker. Of the two I could see more value from twitter though. Anyone want to try and convince me to give it a go. Twitter that is. Never going to go on Facebook as long as I have a hole in my...erm...head..or something
Twitter makes more sense if you follow more people on it - its one of those things that seems a waste of time if you only dip your toe in the water.
Its a good tool for giving you all the news you want in one place (e.g. if you only want to get news relating to your football team then you don't need to wade through several pages of newspaper regarding other teams you don't care about).
I've separated my viewing into various "lists", so I can separate "what my friends are up to" / "news sources" / "what famous people are up to". As a result I no longer buy a newspaper each day/ learn *that* much from news broadcasts, as you hear about any big story immediately via Twitter. Conventional news sources are only necessary for "background information".
If you like obscure things/ people/ music (etc) then its a very handy way of getting news about such things in one place (for example, as a Berwick Rangers fan I've seen updates today from the club regarding the fact that tomorrow's game looks to have passed a "pitch inspection", so I don't need to go visiting various websites to find things out - its all in one place on my twitter "timeline").
I find it a much easier way of finding out what people/ organisations/ things are up to, without having the news "spun" by journalists - look at how bad/biased most railway news (in the mainstream media) is for example - much better to get news from the horse's mouth.
