A train has derailed in north-west Turkey, killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 70 others, state television says.

The train was en route to Istanbul from the town of Kapikule on the Bulgarian border, according to the reports.

Six of the carriages derailed, with about 360 passengers on board, state-run TRT Haber TV channel said.

The exact cause of the crash is unclear but authorities have blamed bad weather and a landslide for the accident. CNN Turk though reported that a collapsed bridge was the cause of the accident.

Other reports (example) say the train was travelling from Uzunkopru, Edirne province, but it doesn't really matter.

Uzunkopru is the border station on the line to Greece and is, as far as I know, not served by passenger trains since the night train from Thessaloniki to Istanbul has been halted.

There are pictures and vidéos in the turkish press showing a track, rails and concrete sleepers, hanging in the air, with no soil or ballast below it. So clearly a track washout.

Location
Mold, Clwyd
Death toll up to 24 (Al Jazeera).
Still no clarification of the location.
Looks like it may have been on the "modern" (1971) deviation built by Turkey to avoid Greek territory near Edirne.

Track seems to have been on a small embankment with a culvert running alongside and in heavy rain the embankment collapsed into the culvert.
