A quick query for someone who knows a little about Tunisian Railways...

Recently, I was in the Hammamet area, within walking distance of Omar Khayem (عمر الخيام) station. The timetables for the Tunis - Nabeul line show five return trips a day, but according to some friendly locals who spotted me waiting for a train that wasn't coming, there are currently only 2 return trips a day - 1.5 in the early morning and a single journey to Nabeul in the evening. Apparently until recently, there were no trains at all, due to them being suspended.

I've had a look online using my basic French, and even more basic Arabic, and can't seem to find any reason or cause for this. Confirmation of which trains actually do run was found using the (rather buggy) SNCFT itinerary pages. But does anyone know why the reduction in service? My initial thought was that the sizable towns of Hammamet and Nabeul are now very under served and perhaps there was an intent to run the service down? Omar Khayem station certainly isn't one of the finest on the network (image attached, thankfully the smell can't be attached )
