I am travelling to London tomorrow, and staying with a friend for a week, and I would like to purchase a 7 day paper travelcard zones 1-6 as I don't have a ZIP card. Is there any way to purchase this on child fares? I can't get a visitor one as they are now too late to be posted. Are they available from ticket machines?

Weekly Season London Terminals (1072) to London Zones 1-6 (0035). Any Permitted Child £30.10.

You'd have to buy it from National Rail as LU don't issue 7 day tickets not on Oyster, and you would also require a National Rail Photocard too.

You can also get a Young Visitor Discount set on your normal Oyster card, which _may_ be cheaper depending on your journeys; this is half price daily caps and single tickets, so will be £6 per day for Zone 1-6, but less if you don't get capped or use fewer zones. This can be done at LU/TfL Rail stations, Visitor Centres (not Gatwick) and Victoria NR booking office. Officially an adult has to do it, but it might be possible to find a staff member to assist.

If you want a 7 day child rate paper Travelcard, your best bet is to take a passport sized photograph (if you don't already have a Child photocard) to a NR booking office anywhere in Great Britain and ask for one. As Gareth says it's £30.10, or click here to see prices if you don't need all of those zones as it's cheaper if you won't be using all the zones.

Proof of age for Young Visitor Discount is not required. I'd only recommend this option if you think that you will be saving money (7x 1 day caps is significantly more expensive than the 7 day Travelcard).

I will save money with the Discount, as we are only using the cap 4 days out of 7.
