Tube strike on FA Cup/Vase/Trophy final weekend

The RMT union has ordered 1,200 key maintenance and engineering staff to begin a three-day strike starting on Friday 17 May in a safety row. This will affect Manchester City and Watford supporters going to the FA Cup Final on Saturday - and also AFC Fylde, Leyton Orient, Chertsey Town and Cray Valley supporters going to the FA Trophy and FA Vase final on Sunday.

Talks at ACAS broke down on Friday. So if, as seems likely, the strike goes ahead, what sort of service, if any, will London Underground be able to operate on those dates?

Point of order: The RMT hasn't ordered anyone to do anything. The RMT members have voted in a proper ballot for strike action. The union are fulfilling that mandate.

Indeed. If I have to drive, is there any street parking within walking distance (2 to 3 miles) of Wembley (e.g. Sudbury) or is absolutely everywhere residents parking only? I haven't driven to London since 1980 so I haven't a clue what it's like.

Your best bet would be the area North of Kingsbury station or North West of Preston Road Station.

Yes the Northern Rail fiasco has been a nightmare for Southerners too, going to away games in the north on Saturday has been a real pain in the bum!

FWIW, and to answer your original question, there wasn’t believed to have been any noticeable impact to the customer service, hence the lack of publicity.
