Is it just me or is the service on the Underground getting far worse? I've noticed increasingly long gaps between trains, especially on the Jubilee line on weekends and the Central line during the evenings

In the case of the Central, just as parallel bus routes have been withdrawn and the Elizabeth Line has failed to materialise. Shambles!

I try and avoid the Central Line so have rarely used it for a few years, but recently I've been using it more and it's so busy even at off-peak times when other trains would be near empty. I remember how bad it was at rush hour, where waiting for another train at somewhere like Chancery Lane (to go into the west end) didn't help at all... unless you let every train go until 8 or 9pm! There are some stations where you could be waiting 30 minutes to get on a train, and eventually forcing yourself to be incredibly uncomfortable and wishing you'd walked (in 30 minutes you could go quite some way on foot, let alone getting a bus).

With buses being cut and Crossrail way off, it's a total joke and I feel for those who use it daily.

Maybe there's a case for replacing some of those bus cuts, especially on route 25 until Crossrail finally opens

I'm currently waiting at Whitechapel and again a 10+ minute wait for a train! Not good enough!

There was a period where Saturday evening central line trains ran every 5 minutes or something which for a line that includes both Westfield's and Oxford Street and plenty of people coming home simply wasn't adequate and Saturday evenings felt like shoulder peak times where you can get the first 1 or 2 trains but they're all packed.

It seems to have gotten better since i last used it but I haven't used the central line in about a month so things may have gotten worse again. Either way I don't think there shouldve ever been the intention of reducing central line frequencies when crossrail phase 1 opened because it a) wasn't going to Stratford, Ealing Broadway, seven kings for Newbury park etc yet and b) was running every 5 minutes and likely would be full from people genuinely using it, coming just for a look at it, seeing if they can change their commute etc and not many would even be able to change to crossrail in the first place if you include all stations west of Bond street or East of Liverpool street.

The northern line has also never been good. When I use the southern end it's great. Always appears to be every two minutes but when I'm at London bridge or TCR there'll always seem to be 4-6 minute gaps.

They are the same trains, just going in the opposite directions, one every two mins at the south end would equate to one every four on each branch, however there are the kennington loop services on the charing cross branch as well.

When I was on the Northern two out of three from Morden went via the bank, so 2 mins on the South end equates to three on the bank branch, (2 trains every 6 mins), and one on the Charing Cross branch along side two Kennington loop services, so three every 6 mins) The intervals are not always exact but Always is not mathematically possible without trains running Morden Kennington and reversing, this is not really feasible either.

Sorry you took it so literally. I know they're the same trains, I meant it seems like that. Changed it now, that was a fault on my behalf I apologise.

Although either you went when the Kennington works were happening or your experience was during peak times because off peak all trains from Morden go via bank (although I have seen a few services from Charing X branch go to Morden on Saturday evenings especially) which is why I always get confused that they're every 2 minutes going northbound along the line as far as Kennington, this should continue along the bank branch during times when all trains from Morden go via bank, yet coming south it appears to be a completely different frequency despite both Northern branches having bank trains every 4 minutes which should equate to every 2 minutes between Kings X and Morden but doesn't always seem to.

I may be understanding the timetabling wrong, or maybe they have introduced regular off peak Charing cross trains from Morden and I just haven't noticed.
