Ah of course. Melbourne.
We have family spread all over Australia and some in New Zealand too so a trip there wouldn’t necessarily be impossible...

Not sure how I feel about such a long flight though - once the hours start creeping into double figures I want to end it all.

Wow. It is handy having people to stay with in the Antipodes because it can be pricey. Amazing places to go though. We stayed with friends and family in Hong Kong, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Auckland on our way round the world. Actually bumped in to family I didn't know I had in a tiny village in Chile on New Year.

Well EasyJet are good if you’re on a budget, I’ll give you that. WizzAir goes to weird places with weird names that I’ve never heard of like Schzezin or Tsaktua or stuff like that I don’t think they go anywhere - well, useful, really!

Just because you don't have a clue where they are, and the names ain't english, doesn't make them not useful to alot of people!

Hong Kong is amazing in its scale for what is actually a pretty small place in land area. Lots of interesting public transport and also surprisingly easy to find a stunning almost secluded beach if you need to chill out (Secluded apart from the Panamax ships sailing past and the A380's flying over). The airport alone and the roads and railways and bridges built to get you to the city are amazing. South America I love but it is a very different kettle of fish. Love the place.

Hmm, it sounds like the type of holiday where you need quite a few weeks to spend there - I’m a GCSE student so I only get a week in February (when we plan to travel) and a week and half in April. In the summer we have 7 weeks but we are going to either Mauritius or Grenada towards the end of the summer and to Europe before.

Ha ha. I'm 43, keep thinking I am 23 though. My mum had a long illness after I finished Uni in my 20's. I kind of put my life unintentionally on hold. Since then I had a long term girlfriend a we travelled a fair bit. When we split up I started travelling a lot more.

I quite like Cheshire. If I want a cheap day out of the city I'll just get a Virgin return from Liverpool to Crewe. A blast across the Cheshire plain and then have a beer or two in Brew Dock in Crewe. Sometimes I'll fork out a bit more and jump a train from Crewe to Chester and back.

I will normally aim for a Voyager from Crewe to Chester and back. That is a really nice journey on a sunny day. Past Beeston Castle and a lot of other nice scenery.

LAST MINUTE CHANGE OF PLAN!!! We will be going to Glasgow on a later train now (08:30 or 09:43) because of complications. Therefore I may not be able to include trains on the first day in my report.
