Truncated railway station termini

Many platforms at Liverpol Lime St lost about one chain at the buffer-stop end some years ago.

Do you know which ones, and for what reasons ?

Brum Moor St and Snow Hill are truncated more than somewhat!

Could you clarify? Moor Street is bigger than it was, with the bays effectively identical. (Yes, I know that there was a third terminating platform but if we include all bays this thread will go on for ever.)
Snow Hill was never a terminal in a deliberate sense, albeit with a ‘phased closure’. I know that the South end was re-opened first but surely that was only a phasing issue in terms of West Midlands overall transport planning.

Boot on the Ravenglass & Eskdale. The original terminus was at Dalegarth.

Cheesington South was built where it was to support an onwards connection to Leatherhead which never happened. It got moved north in order to get rid of a level crossing.

Going back to Bradford, the Bradford Canal was also truncated several years after it opened. Rather an unpleasant patch of water by all accounts. Now of course gone.

This could prompt a new thread "which station died the most painful way?". Broad Street is a good entry but my Snow Hill has a case too!

At least there is a station back in the Snow Hill area again.

According to that most worthy of publications "Branch Line News" (which has even been featured as a guest publication on "Have I got News for You") ...

On the Manx Electric Railway, trams to Ramsey now terminate at a "temporary" station south of the Parsonage Road crossing due to the poor condition of the track at the "old" station, 5 ch to the north. However the booking office, toilets etc remain in use at the old site. The last trams to the old station in passenger service ran on Sun 30th Oct 2016 (so I was lucky enough to do it a month earlier). Apparently the tracks in the old station are occasionally used for recessing trams ECS during special events like TT week.

It is not known whether the track will be repaired so the old station might see trams again. Indeed there has even been a proposal to close the Laxey - Ramsey section of the MER to save a mere £708,000.

That would be a shame, I went on all the Manx railways/trams a few months ago, they were great all all well used.
