If I were in London I'd definitely be waving something in his direction but I doubt I'll be down that way.Anybody going to wander by wherever he might be and wave a flag? Of any sort?
I’m with you on that Busaholic.I've been on one anti-American demo in my life, namely Grosvenor Square in 1968, but I wouldn't waste any time on this man even if I were unfortunate enough to be near whichever area he's going to infest.

I can't believe they're going to let him meet the Queen. It'll be interesting to watch her reaction. Will they be allowing old Phil to meet him too? That would be rather interesting to see!![]()
I understand the reasoning and potential power behind the "ignore him or turn your back on him" suggestions. Unfortunately to be truly effective, that needs a level of agreement and discipline between millions of interested individuals.
So to avoid the worst of all worlds that would be a token protest by more volatile individuals who are easy to label, abuse and sneer at, it seems to me that as a reasonable, non-violent individual who is rarely moved to protest, I ought to stand up and be counted, with as large and witty a banner as I can manage, for the benefit of the cameras.

so of all the terrible things in the world worth protesting about the one thing you are "going to stand up and be counted about" is the democratically president of the USA coming to Britain? Crack on if you want. It wont make a shred of difference to anything at all. Madness.

Unfortunately for you, the people protesting about 'all the terrible things in the world' will probably be unwashed students, malcontents, lefties, corbyn clowns, commies, arnchco's, wrong uns, environmentalists and nut jobs (not sure what an 'arnchco' is tho')
Probably will be the same mob who thought it was appropriate to try and storm Alder Hay Childrens Hospital, attempt to set off fire alarms, and intimidate staff and parents of other ill children at the hospital. This country does make me sick at times...
Hmm...not sure that they would fit into any of DarloRich's categories....from what I read about them they were organised by right-wing religious fundamentalists.

Trump is a massively disgusting orange phallus but just ignore him - A much stronger statement than a vast body of unwashed students, malcontents, lefties, corbyn clowns, commies, arnchco's, wrong uns, environmentalists and nut jobs acting up, waving silly placards and chanting middle class slogans at someone who doesn't care.
because, of curse, Trumpington is going to see such protests and think: My god, my entire life is a sham. i must change immediately and do what the protesters say!

A most excellent posting.
Your first paragraph also accurately and succinctly describes everything that is wrong with Corbyn’s new (old) Labour.
IS.
and Blair's hijacking of the labour party to make himself a billionaire was right ?
The current politic has demonised anything not party to it's control via the media it controls.
You'll be trying to convince us that Churchill was good for the people of this country next.

I will be driving to Turnberry and having a game of mini-golf with Barron before meeting the Trump card and applauding him for how well he is playing the game of politics. Like it or not, he seems to have brought the Koreas to at least a summit. Also, we do love protesting against Americans when we seem completely inert when we have such saintly figures visit us from the likes of Saudi Arabia, China, Azerbaijan and Israel.
It is disgusting that these so called 'lefties' and social justice warriors would amass in thousands against Trump in London so they can be seen on tv and on social media yet do absolutely nothing when Erdogan et al turn up in London. Tony Benn would be oscillating wildly in his grave.
Nothing at all to do with the collapse/destruction of their nuclear test facilities then?Like it or not, he seems to have brought the Koreas to at least a summit.
