Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing for the Trump election campaign

It could cause him to miss key rallies etc in the run up, weakening his campaign

Or it could cause a wave of sympathy for him amongst the American electorate.

Or he could come through it stronger “it’s a nothing virus, anyone can beat it”

The news has led to the prediction US stock markets will drop later today, so they must think it's quite significant:

US stock markets have indicated that shares will open sharply lower after Donald Trump said he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Stock market futures showed that all three of America's main indexes - the Dow Jones, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq - are set to drop by at least 1.5% each when trading begins on Friday.

The US President tweeted he and his wife Melania had contracted Covid-19.

It comes as the US heads into the final weeks before the Presidential election.

The E-6 Mercurys are in flight off both coasts, these are airborne command posts which can launch the US nukes if the White House is incapacitated. I suppose the Pentagon arn't taking any chances.

Fake news!

All part of a game he’s playing because he’s not doing well in the polls.

Maybe he's hoping to get an early version of a vaccine, then using that to boost his numbers by getting US pharmas to mass produce it.... ;)

Given how desperate he is to win re election, I wonder if he deliberately went out of his way to pick it up to garner sympathy or so he can say he has beaten it and come back stronger.

If a 74-year old self-isolates for 2 weeks, recovers with no ill-effects, maybe it will show the world that the overreaction in terms of trashing our economies was completely unjustified

Yes, because one man who’ll have access to the best medical care in the world And who’ll be getting care at the moment that far outweighs his medical need will be a great example for Joe Public

After his recent car-crash interviews and debate, he's better staying out of the way. Wonder if his mask-covid-denying supporters will now come to there senses?
