I have been “caught” for fare evasion. They stopped me as they thought i had skipped the barrier, which i had not. I panicked as a result and gave them information that may not be true and have caused them to misunderstand me. I had a plain oyster card under my dad’s Name. The problem is the inspector asked why it is a 75% discount. I said “oh I dont know about this, what is that?” for which he answered “ex tfl workers and rail workers”. He asked me what my dad does for work I am not entirely sure if I lied and said ex tfl or not . I definitely said “yeah” at some point when asked if my dad worked for tfl (retired). But i could barely hear as it happened in Liverpool Street station.

I have not heard from tfl yet, but If I get prosecuted/ it gets put on my record I will lose my job as I work in finance.

There is also the question of when they should show you the card with the rights on it - mine was shown to me right at the end before getting a receipt for my Oyster card.
