Trivia: Unofficial station name signs

Northern did a couple of others at the same time - Hartle-yule and Ho Ho Holmes Chapel. In case anyone's wondering, these were in aid of charities local to each (temporarily) renamed station.

One morning last year I was waiting on Platform 3 at Lancaster, and noticed something stuck on a name board across the tracks on Platform 1. Was able to get a close-up photo and it read "Green Ayre," making the board read "Lancaster Green Ayre." I asked a member of the station staff about it, and after some thought, he said it was from when they'd done something at Lancaster Station to commemorate the closing of Green Ayre Station, which was in 1966. I got a photo of it, but can't find it at present.

Perhaps I should have kept quiet, because the next time I was at Lancaster Station the sticker had gone.
