not on Avanti...I suspect that was from the days of the separate guards van, however they have been phased out and you have the bike inside the main passenger carriage now.

Or LNER’s 225snot on Avanti...
They’ve been available on Caledonian Sleeper for 10 years.I'm fairly certain E-Ticket bike reservations won't be that far away.
@Wallsendmag will probably have more information as I'm sure there's a trial with LNER
Unfortunately now issued as PRT in several places... and from Southern/Thameslink, not even a proper 'Platform Ticket'... just a retail sundry receipt. Although I did get a 'proper' barcoded PRT one from Waterloo recently. Also Platform Tickets

Duo tickets can't be issued as e-tickets.Unfortunately now issued as PRT in several places... and from Southern/Thameslink, not even a proper 'Platform Ticket'... just a retail sundry receipt. Although I did get a 'proper' barcoded PRT one from Waterloo recently.
Scotrail/TfW/Southeastern issue them on CCST. Probably Northern too. GWR are moving to PRT but have the capability to issue them on CCST.
Avanti claim they can't produce them (Avocet/Worldline TIS... no idea what the process is or if it is genuinely not possible? It's not the same process as Worldline TIS with SWR & EMR).
I had a PRT Platform ticket with a blank station name issued a few days ago by EMR... looks odd!
Edit: Haha just realised this thread was a few months old![]()
Not every retailer supports eTickets for Duo tickets, some default to ToD (collection). Duo tickets are entered into the fares data as one fare, but are valid for 2 people. This is different to how many group fares work and so a separate eTicket format - where each passenger receives their own PDF, barcode and wallet pass, but the second one has zero fare showing - would be required to properly issue them.Today I travelled with my mother on a return journey to Manchester involving a split with a Senior Railcard (for her) ticket and a Duo ticket
So 2 x Off Peak Day Return, 1 discounted with a Senior Railcard
1 x Duo
Not sure if the presence of a railcard and/or Duo triggered it but the entire order was then sent through as CCST collection rather than eTicket so just the 8 tickets (plus a receipt to make it 9 for good measure) to juggle with all day!
Duo fares are only set by Northern. So if Northern set the interavailable fare (e.g. Any Permitted) for the journey, then it can be used on any operator. If another operator sets the interavailable fare then the Duo fare is "Northern only" and has an according discount relative to the interavailable fare.On a side note I always thought the Duo product was a Northern only thing but it was perfectly valid on Transpenine Express, perhaps because Northern set the fare I'm guessing
They've been able to be issued as E-Tickets for a while, I think it was Northern WebTIS (Trainline Whitelabel) which did it firstDuo tickets can't be issued as e-tickets.
Good to know.
East Croydon - Norwood Junction (Anytime Day Return route Not via London) is an example to the contrary.Any ticket to/from an Overground managed station, as TfL gates do not have barcode readers.
