Is it possible to play piano in every railway station in the country in a day (or a week)?
Would make a good charity objective, might even get someone like Portillo interested in TV program if one tried hard.

If I remember rightly its not just talented students that tickle the ivories (play) on these pianoes, its been known for some of Northern's staff to have some hidden talents, I remember when there was a Piano at Oxford Road and one of Northern's drivers if I remember used to play it regularly and post his videos on Youtube or his Facebook page.

My brother-in-law played that the other day when we were out drinking there (very talented, can play about 30 instruments and can adapt to a new one in no time).

Just sitting there in the corner just inside the rear entrance, apparently unguarded.
I didn’t have time to sit down and play it (at least that’s my excuse). I wonder if anyone would have told me not to.
Anyone know why it was there, and whether it’ll be sticking around? I hadn’t used that entrance for a while so it could have been there for quite some time.
EDIT: I’m talking about the piano at Reading station. (This was originally stated in the title of the thread I started which has now been merged into this one.)

Yes they are very common across the network. Sadly they where removed or restricted during the pandemic but now that’s behind us are gradually making an appearance once more.
Yarp, it's been there for a while now. If they'd have put it on the town centre side of the station it probably wouldn't still be there now

Abbey Wood has a piano - it's quite good as well, much better than my piano-playing!
Think there’s on in the Grand Arcade shopping centre in Cambridge, it’s the same sort of thing.
Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley have one (which I’ve tried, the Glasgow central one seems to get shut off every night at a certain time, which is a bit annoying - though given what happened in Newcastle I’m not at all blaming them!)

The mention of Hebden Bridge (and suggestion of putting one at Breich) upthread from three-plus years ago has me wondering which is the smallest or least-used station which has a piano?
