What railway stations have the longest walk to get between platforms?

The most i can think of is Aldrington station. To get between P1 and P2 (or vice versa) at this station you have to walk down a very long steep footpath to the station entrance and then walk under the railway bridge and then walk up another very long steep footpath to get to the other platform.

Can anyone think of any other railway stations that have a long walk to get between different platforms?

Garsdale - I think they are about half a mile apart ?
there are 2 separate road entrances so you have to walk down the road and up the hill on the other side to get to the other platform.

Shotton, which used be 2 stations (High Level and Low Level), and which has a long footpath running between the Borderlands and the North Wales Coast platforms.

Going outside of national rail, I've never worked out how to change platforms at Ilford Road Tyne and Wear Metro station.

Seascale similarly has a long walk along the road, under a bridge and back up a path. Shipley's triangular station seemed a long way when I tried to find another platform.

For main stations...Manchester Piccadilly P13/14 and Paddington's regional platforms.

Yes that's a long gap, 176 miles, but I don't think it counts as they're in different stations ;)

Prees Station has a long walk while the level crossing barriers are down, about 3 miles.

Crewe Platform 2 to Platform 12 isn't the shortest. Glasgow Central has a fair old walk too from memory, perhaps there are shortcuts.

Green Park on the tube is quite a walk changing between Piccadilly to Victoria lines.

It feels like going from P13/14 to the Bakerloo line platforms is quicker than the H&C platforms.

Blame LU. They made a last minute change to the plans and built an equipment room into the blanked off 'north' end of the P14 footbridge. The planning drawings showed a small gateline in the immediate vicinity of the new H&C station concourse.

There are countless places where changing platforms with the level crossing closed is a huge distance. The trick is to do so while the crossing is open!

Pilning, since the footbridge was removed for electrification work and not replaced. But there would be no point walking to the down platform as nothing stops there any more.

It's much quicker going up to the ticket hall and back down to the Victoria Line platforms.

Half a mile???? It's most certainly not that! And for what it's worth I can't imagine a situation where you would need to walk between the two platforms unless you'd missed your stop.

Walking from the Tube to the MML platforms at St Pancras is a bit of a walk but it doesn't exactly kill you.

One end of Edinburgh Waverley to the other

Absolutely!

It's when you really regret taking a first class VTEC journey North and find yourself at the East End of Platform 1 and your connecting service is leaving from Platform 12.

High Wycombe from platform 1 to 3. 1 is a long bay platform so worst case you have to walk the length of P1 to P2, then back down virtually the same distance to get to the footbridge over to P3.

Interestingly I believe the connectional allowance is 1 minute.

The platforms at Euston are not far apart from each other but dealing with the Euston Scrum if you have a seat in coaches A-C on a 390 can feel like quite an experience.

Similarly if you're finding your way from the concourse to the leading coach of 5 or 10 car voyager in platform 18, which is almost at the foot of Camden Bank.

Another one in the North Wales Coast is Abergele and Pensarn. Since the railway bridge was demolished back in the day, you go up the ramp from the down platform, through what was the station yard, on to the road, over the road bridge, and on to the road leading down to the beach to access the up platform.

Fourtunately, again, it is not a regularly-used connection, unless you fall asleep and miss Rhyl or Colwyn Bay!

Waverley P1 to just about anywhere else is a long hike. I've posted this before, but I know of an elderly couple who missed *two* Borders trains in succession because they had to shuffle from P1 to P3 in the intervening half hour. To be fair, there was also some confusion in the mix, but most of it was slow walking. :(

If I ever get on a six coach Glasgow shuttle on P7 (it happens more than you'd think) I swear that I've walked half way to Dunbar to get to the rear unit.

Victoria isnt that bad , but walking from one end of the Southeastern side , to the far end of the Southern side , is a bit of a walk .

Charing Cross Bakerloo and Northern is a fair bit too
