In order for Liverpool South Parkway to open in the first instance, the original station "Allerton" (on the same site) had to be closed, as well as the nearby station serving the Merseyrail Northern line, "Garston" Station. The only things still in place are the rail lines, everything else is unrecognisable from the pre LSP days. HTH.

There was couple of the Southmintser branch renamed not so long ago: Woodham Ferrers became South Woodham Ferrers, and Fambridge became North Fambridge. A couple of stations on the stretch between Faversham and Margate have also had '-on-Sea' suffixes added I believe.

Silvertown and North Woolwich on the North London Line have both closed during the period in question.

The DLR line to Woolwich effectively replaced those stations (it's a new route), while the track bed from Canning Town to Stratford became a DLR route.

Oh, and Bicester Town has become Bicester Village!

That's a very impressive list - hadn't appreciated so many stations had opened since privatisation

I think (but not certain) Camelon, Drumfrochar, Glenrothes and Wallyford were opened in the last few months of British Rail.

Ditton (Closed 29/05/1994)
Weymouth Quay (Not formally closed. Refer to PDF)

PDF Shows Weymouth Quay record from my xls spreadsheet, which contains a record of every National Rail Station since 01/04/1994 that is or has been Open, Closed, Re-opened, Renamed, etc and date visited with the Train that was photographed.

Conway Park on the Wirral Line opened in 1998.

Brunswick, on the Northern Line (Merseyrail) opened in 1864, closed in 1974 and then reopened on a different site in 1998.

List of Station Closures since 1/04/1994.

(The Temporary Station at Workington North opened and closed post 1994)

Those identified as London Midland are Bus replacement services, not formally closed. (Flags up to me what Stations may re-open, like Stone). Newhaven Marine like Weymouth Quay, not formally closed, so not on this list.

Barbican and Moorgate National Rail Platform Closures.

New Stations PDF include NYMR Stations, as there are timetabled services to/from National Rail Stations from Grosmont to Whitby during the Summer. Also included are Central London CrossRail Platforms.

Thats all your getting!

You could add Blackfriars to your 'relocated' list and Kings Cross Thameslink to your 'closed' list (though I guess it's arguable whether that one is really closed or merely relocated).

Horwich Parkway opened in 1999.

Lea Green opened about 2000, as did Luton Airport Parkway and Warwick Parkway.

Pendleton 'officially' closed in about 1996/7 (so just into privatisation), although it's de-facto closure was about 1992/93 after it was arsoned.

Interesting one, as the replacement is part of St Pancras which was a station already. I would argue that Whitechapel, Wapping, Rotherhithe and Canada Water shouldn't count as openings as they were previously Underground stations.

Couple of errors: it's Buckshaw Parkway and East Midlands Parkway.

You could add Blackfriars to your 'relocated' list ....................

Blackfriars was not relocated. It was rebuilt at the same location with platforms extended over the Thames river bridge.

Warwick Parkway opened in 2000

What about stations on the old West Croydon-Wimbledon line before it was closed and converted for Tramlink? In particular there is nothing of the original Waddon Marsh station left.

Agreed West Croydon -Wimbledon closed in 1997
stations closed -Waddon Marsh, Beddington Lane, Mitcham, Morden Road and Merton Park
Also Elmers End- Addiscombe closed on the same day-
Stations at Woodside and Addiscombe were closed.

A renaming- St. Pancras became St Pancras International in 2007 when Eurostar services began.
Waterloo International platforms were closed.

Smethwick West closed in 1996. It was rendered obsolete by the opening of nearby Smethwick Galton Bridge in 1995.

North Woolwich? Silvertown? Possibly others on that branch that were replaced by the new Dockland Light Railway line?

Although the formal consultation for closure of Norton Bridge has started and is currently advertised on a poster on the concourse of Birmingham New Street station.

Sinfin North and Sinfin Central did indeed close officially in 1998 but they had been served by a taxi since 1993.

Silvertown and City Airport closed in 2006 I think.

The OP's list missed out Brighouse which opened in 2000. As for Liverpool South Parkway, that's an odd one as it was a merger of 2 separate stations (Garston and Allerton) along with renaming.

You've got Pontymister listed separately to Risca - in fact they are just one station: Risca & Pontymister.

It seems Yarm has also not been mentioned.

Garston Station was on a totally seperate site to the (new) existing LSP platforms 5 & 6 which cover the Northern 3rd rail lines - I think about 200 yds apart, so technically a closure.
