Trivia: Stations served only by slam door trains

As we end 2017 I think Pewsey must be the only station left in the country where all the trains that stop there only have slam doors. This will change later in 2018 when IET start running. Is there any other station like this ?

Sorry, no. One train per day in each direction is operated by a Class 321 EMU.

Through it wasn't always the case at Pewsey, as 180s used to call there on Berks & Hants semi-fasts up to 2007/8 during their first stint with FGW.

I have seen one there before a while back, I believe on a local from Newbury due to engineering, long before Turbos were cascaded West. Not sure if it called at Pewsey.

Pewsey has stop boards for 2/3 car units, so it does happen from time to time. Not in normal service, so maybe it doesn't count!

They were installed for when Class 165/166s went to Westbury during one of the Reading Engineering Blocks, Easter 2013 I think it was - might have been another block they did too. Turbos ran between Reading and Westbury every 2 hours I think, serving Pewsey.

Class 165/166s have been beyond Bedwyn since then, running special services to Castle Cary for Glastonbury, not stopping at Pewsey however.

If or when Devizes Parkway is built, I do reckon that it'll join Pewsey with it being the only two stations what have slammers stopping there.
