From Barry Island, Barry Town and in the distance Barry Dock. This is possible due to the curvature of the line and a good panoramic view, I don't think you can the Dock from the Town though. I was thinking of Heath High and Low Levels but I think houses block the view.

Port Sunlight from Spital (and probably a number of other Merseyrail pairs)

When I used to visit my aunt at Spital regularly in the late 1980s and early 1990s you could always see the units stopping at Bromborough Rake several minutes before they arrived at Spital.

You can see Bristol PW from the footbridge at Abbey Wood.
Bath Spa is just visible from Oldfield Park.

From Redland you can see Clifton Down to the right. You can't see Montpellier to the left, even though it is probably closer.

Anerley to Penge West
Highbury & Islington to Canonbury
Waun-gron Park to Fairwater
Glasgow Central Low Level to Argyle Street
Bidston to Leasowe (and possibly as far as Moreton)

On preserved railways,
Barry Island to Plymouth Road (not surprising as they are only about 6 or 7 chains apart)
Minehead to Dunster
Ludborough to North Thoresby

Don't think this one has been mentioned - New Beckenham from Lower Sydenham (not sure if this applies in the reverse direction)

Woolwich Arsenal - Plumstead (if you stand on the Plumstead end of Woolwich Arsenal's up platform in particular.)

Stoneleigh to Ewell West

With binoculars you should be able to see not just Angle Road bot Northumberland Park from Ponders End

How? I've never managed that - it's round a corner isn't it? Or has the recent extension at Ewell West just put them in line of sight?

When I saw that I thought how the heck is he seeing one from the other?

Anyway Chessington North & South. Woking & West Byfleet, Byfleet & New Haw - Weybridge, Walton on Thames - Hersham, Berrylands - New Malden - Raynes Park, Clapham Junction - Queenstown Road.

Was about to post that you can see West Byfleet from Woking and vice-versa, but HarleyDavidson beat me to it...

From the footbridge at Ardwick you can see the roof of Piccadilly, but you can't do it the other way round without breaking at least one law! You can see Burnage from Mauldeth Road but I think that's already been covered.

Are you sure they are adjacent stations on the same line?;)

They are divided by the River Dart. There has never been a railway at Dartmouth but a station with Booking Office and then cross by ferry to catch the train at Kingswear. Not sure now since the line has become a Heritage Railway

New Beckenham- Lower Sydenham. When the new Rochester station opens in a few weeks I think you will be able to see Strood from it?
