Trivia:Remaining trains that divide/split

A long time ago now, but I think the Down Penzance sleeper used to drop a portion at Plymouth which was then shunted by an 08. I'm not sure what happened in the up direction.

Not all that long ago. I used it a number of times and it was far more civilised than having to get out of bed at Plymouth before the train heads off to Cornwall. It picked up the coach on the way to London but I can't recall exactly how that worked..

As for the OP's request for where trains used to split (but don't any more):

Sheffield (Leeds / Hull to Brighton; Leeds / Newcastle to Poole)

Stirling (Glasgow QS / Edinburgh to Inverness)

Carstairs / Preston (Glasgow C / Edinburgh to Manchester V / Liverpool LS)

There are loads more I am sure

Newton Abbott (Plymouth/Penzance & Paignton)

Several years ago I travelled on a service ex Glasgow Queen Street which split at Stirling: one portion to Dunblane and the other to Alloa.

Not an ordinary operation insofar as I am aware

Most of the regular examples from up here;

Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen (Rear train splits and terminates at Perth)
Glasgow Queen Street / Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen (Join together at Dundee)
Glasgow Queen Street to Oban / Mallaig (Split/Join at Crianlarich)
Glasgow Queen Street to Inverurie (Additional coaches coupled at Aberdeen)
Glasgow Queen Street to Elgin (Front train splits and terminates at Inverness)
Inverurie to Stonehaven (Additional coaches coupled at Aberdeen IIRC)
Caledonian Sleeper (Lowlander splits/joins at Carstairs, and Highlander splits/joins at Edinburgh)

Perhaps a further one or two cases of splitting/joining trains on the cards when the IEPs roll out on the East Coast?
