PL-4 is the Acton Town to Rayners Lane service which does not use the M4. Is this the PL-3 that you are referring to, which does Hammersmith non-stop to Heathrow T23 via the M4? It normally uses coaches but red buses have not been strangers to the run.

It's one of very few rail replacement services I know of that's actually faster than the train it is replacing!
What other example of Rail Replacement bus/coach services which are quicker ?

I used one from Antrim to Belfast many moons ago that got to Belfast Central four minutes earlier than the scheduled train arrival. It was on a Sunday though.

Rail replacement buses on the West Highland Line and indeed the Far North Lines will always be quicker than the train

Leamington Spa - Stratford-upon-Avon buses are 5 to 10 minutes quicker than the train because they usually run non-stop rather than serving all the intermediate stations.
