This thread by @Gathursty :

reminded me of platform 4 at Cheadle Hulme, which has 4 ways of accessing it from street level:
  • stairs from the footbridge
  • stairs from the car park
  • ramp from the cycle parking
  • stairs from the main road
(I'm not counting the lifts, which - as I recall, anyway - are right next to the stairs.)

Can anywhere top that number of routes onto a specific platform (as opposed to station)?

I can equal it...

Paddington platform 1- car park end, footbridge, side entrance to station, concourse.

Twyford platform 4- car park barrow crossing, side gate, footbridge, ticket office.

The old Reading platform 4 had a few: 4a/4b mini concourse, main barrier line, lift from the footbridge, subway, 1/2/3 mini concourse, the pub.

Platform 1/2/3/4 at York has 5: Ramp from Car Park at South end. Subway Lift/Steps. Main Entrance from Bus/taxi/Drop off. Footbridge Steps. Entrance to Bike parking north of York Tap.
There may be additional ways through the shops/ticket office/pubs around the main entrance but I think that'd be somewhat stetching it.

Don't forget there are two entirely separate passenger subways at York now, both with lifts.
