The automated announcements at the some of the valley lines stations used to be a bit odd, not sure if they have been fixed yet, but certainly the one at Ton Pentre would announce Grangetown as the station code (GTM) when reading out calling patterns. Will be able to confirm if that still is the case this weekend!

You've triggered my memory, I'm certain I've seen a junction appear on a PIS before. How could that be programmed, an incorrect code?

I recall seeing Bradley Junction as a calling point on the old PC monitor screens in Halifax. It wasn't a one off either as every service to Wakefield Westgate always had the calls listed as Brighouse, Bradley Junction, Huddersfield, Deighton, Heaton Lodge Jn, Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate & Wakefield Westgate.

Bradley Junction and Heaton Lodge were never announced though, it would have been funny if they were.

This one is one of my favourite CIS fails, courtesy of Great Western Railway.

Would have been even more hilarious had it had the actual calling pattern announced in Annes voice with Rodger doing the rest.

Recently on a 455 out of Waterloo, on both visual and verbal systems...

At Vauxhall:

"This is London Waterloo"

At Clapham Junction:

"This is Vauxhall. This train is for London Waterloo. The next station is London Waterloo."

At Earlsfield:

"This is Clapham Junction. This train is for London Waterloo, calling at Vauxhall and London Waterloo".

( By this time several passengers were starting to laugh ).

At Wimbledon:

"This is Earlsfield. This train is for London Waterloo, calling at Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and London Waterloo.

You can guess the rest... all the way to Epsom ( where several passengers were hysterical with laughter ) at which point it was announcing:

"This is Ewell West. This train is for London Waterloo, calling at Stoneleigh, Worcester Park, Motspur Park... etc etc etc"

At this point, having got off, I approached the guard and told him what the system was doing. He really had no idea as he couldn't hear it in the rear cab... He told me he would switch it off immediately and make manual announcements for the rest of the journey.
