The bus service displayed on the departure boards at Peterborough has come up before on the forum (but those threads were closed so couldn't add this post to them) but it was interesting to apparently see two destinations yesterday but it is of course the same service. The 15.44 departure terminates at Swaffham presumably to morph into another service as there is no bus depot there. These buses also serve Kings Lynn and most go on to Norwich and Lowestoft but intriguingly this is not displayed, possibly because those destinations can still be accessed via the rail network. Swaffham will never see another train and while Dereham is still connected to the network there are no TOC operated services to it (Mid-Norfolk Railway own the line)The 'bustitution' in the title refers to the fact that in a previous era it was possible to travel by rail to Dereham from Peterborough via Wisbech and Kings Lynn.
