Oops! I'd always thought the railway junction was just within England. But checking the map, I see it's (just) in Scotland - and that the junction was also part of the old BR ScR.

Not counted them but there must be a couple of hundred listed already.

Both ends of the OWW at Wolvercote and Norton junctions are a fair distance from a station.

Small point, but assuming OWW = Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway, the northern end of it today is at Round Oak (north of Stourbridge Junction), not Norton Junction south of Worcester.

Haughley Junction in Suffolk - it's about 1km from the nearest part of its namesake village and the station closed nearly 60 years ago.

Tried looking on line but cant fine the junction name.

Reckon that will be Bidston East Junction. Just over half-a-mile from Birkenhead North. Or a mile or so if from Wallasey Village.

I will go through to check and eliminate those which had a station but that station is closed. I suspect counting the number of junctions at stations will take longer.

Probably mentioned already, Arundel junction is a very rural one surrounded by fields and rivers / ditches. Not far from ford, but very rural

Southerham junction also listed. Not easy to get to, I have walked to it from Southease 35 min walk)

Haughley Junction in Suffolk - it's about 1km from the nearest part of its namesake village and the station closed nearly 60 years ago.

The reference to Colwich in the original post implies that junctions that used to have stations are not included.

Haughley was a proper junction station. The Haughley mails split and joined there. Also, until 1952 it was junction for the Middy (Mid Suffolk Light Railway).

Although already mentioned, it's worth saying that Shaftholme Jc was where the Great Northern railway famously ended in a field.

Standish Junction (closed c. 1976) was located immediately just to the South of the one-time Standish station (closed May 1949).
