Trivia: Fewest passengers per station call?

Looking at the top 5 least used stations overall, there is quite a variation in number of passengers per train.

Other stations of interest are:
IBM - 0.47 passengers per train, although I think that is inflated.
Duncraig - 0.12
Swale - 0.18
Llandecwyn (least used on the Cambrian Coast) - 0.35
Sugar Loaf - 0.08
Beasdale - 0.11
Thornton Abbey - 0.18
Gilfach Fargoed - 0.27

Ah, Thornton Abbey, in the middle of almost nowhere, adjacent to a farm and an English Heritage property nobody seemed to be visiting the day we walked past recently. A 153 passed with one passenger aboard on its way from Barton-on-Humber to Cleethorpes. Most regular local bus routes have gone, but Call Connect Lincolnshire offers a limited degree of service half way between a bus service and taxis. Quite efficient too, but not near this rail route.

Looks like the site is only recently cleared though... saves them having to do it themselves now.

Wonder if IBM will be renamed when the site is cleared. Spango Valley would be the obvious choice, but no doubt something else will be dreamt up, probably the name of the housing estate or business park that replaces it. Speaking of which... There seems to be no progress on building Ravenscraig station so far.

Id say that some of the numbers arent that accurate. I quite regularly travelled on one of the 3 trains a day that stops at Doleham Station on Marshlink and over 10 years went past without me seeing anybody get on or off. The station useage figures have in the past been as high as 28,000 and are now around 4000 but even that's wildly optimistic.
The other Marshlink halts have regular passengers but I think that Doleham only has the occasional walker that gets off there and walks in to Rye or possibly an enthusiast or two. Bizarrely as its a Southern station it has a TVM with full TOD facilities and a PIS built in to the help point which is linked to the outside world by a satelite link as their are no telephone lines at the station.

Doleham is a strange one

But so is Balmossie, same service frequency as Barry Links & Golf Street but seems to have a lot more ticket sales.

It is pointless now. Any settlement nearby is served by Inverkip or Branchton. The person who I bought the tickets from at Wemyss Bay said that he never sells tickets there anymore.

It gets 249 trains per week, or ~12950 trains per year. That's just under half a person per train on average using the most recent statistics (6032). That should have declined substantially again when the next set comes out, both based on my observations whilst at the station and the statistical trend: over the past 5 years, patronage has at least halved every year.

When my ship was in dry-dock in Garvel Last year, I walked along the Greenock Cut path to Wemyss Bay the whole IBM site is a right eyesore from up there.
