Trivia: Earliest services from each TOC

It did, but if you look again you will see STP against the train. Due Engineering Work bustitution between Crewe and Chester and then fresh train re-starting.

For this thread to have any meaning, there need to be a couple of assumptions made:

1) Eliminate 24 hour operators or routes
2) Accept that the end of one transport day does run in many cases into the actual following day. In other words, most operators finish operations for the night in the early hours of the following morning and restart several hours later. Therefore it's a bit pointless including a train departing at 00:30 when the operator then shuts down for the night.

As others are mentioning services just after midnight, I'll suggest the 00:15 Glasgow Central to Ayr for ScotRail. Only night it doesn't run is Saturday into Sunday.

Also, on Friday night into Saturday mornings nearly every route out of Glasgow Central has one service after midnight.

As a matter of interest has any member travelled REGULARLY on any of these "earliest" services as a passenger. I use to travel on the 0330 MKC-EUS on a regular basis, from MK.

I used to use the 0400 (as it was!) Swansea to London Paddington quite regularly in 2005, the 0150 Fishguard Harbour to Swansea not quite as often but it (along with the inbound working - 2345 last time I did it) was very handy for expensive taxi avoidance!

I regularly use a number of different trains which, by different criteria and if 24-hr TOCs are allowed, could be considered to be Southern's earliest. Such are some of my commutes...
