Are there many services/companies that charge different fares for peak hours ?

The Reading All-Bus and Reading Buses Simply Network group fares differ depending on whether travelling peak or off peak.

Reading All-Bus group ticket - up to 4 people

Valid for up to four people (any combination of adults and children) travelling together - valid all day on all buses (even those from other operators) within the simplyReading area. The ticket has a 'peak' price (Monday to Friday before 9.30am) and 'off-peak' price (Monday to Friday after 9.30am, all day weekends & public holidays.)

off-peak£5.50

The Green Line routes to Reading did so in the past even for a return (before noon or after noon). However it's now irrelevant due to the £2 cap on fares)

Until the cur in price of the all-operator ticket from £6.50 to £4.50, earlier this year, most operators in West Yorkshire had pre- and post- 0930 prices for their own day tickets. The only reason to have their own tickets now is for cross-border services and none have kept the peak/off-peak distinction. The only tickets in West Yorkshire with a variant valid on buses before 0930 and one that isn't are the bus and train day tickets - all county after 0930 is £10.10 (with further afternoon peak restrictions on trains) and peak which vary between £12.30 and £15.60 depending on rail zones.
