IMO Reading is a good depot because their trains are well turned out and fail very rarely. Is their a better depot?

Wimbledon EMUD. The fact that their 458/0s, and 455s won the golden spanners (ie had most miles between technical incidents) for both pre and post privatisation EMUs is surely pretty good evidence!

Also Salisbury DMUD, with the Class 159/158?

I suppose Salisbury is pretty good as well, but one of the main reasons I settled on Wimbledon is because of the 458s. How Wimbledon improved their reliability from what it was when they left Washwood Heath to what it had been before the conversion program shall remain an impressive mystery!

But probably not as well maintained.

Talking of WCRC, Southall's stock looks appalling.

But least it's in better nick than Riviera's. When was the last time you saw a dumped West Coast item of stock sitting around a station for 9 months?

Anyway, moving on from the West Coast bashing - and I suppose I have to thank Riviera for chucking out a mostly FO rake on the Rugby Specials last week (shame it leaked like a sieve though!)

In all the depots around, I cant think of a one to top Wimbledon. But, the Alstom depots do seem to have an impressive regime - The Pendo fleet seem fairly reliable and well turned out with regular overhauls (Is that Oxley or Longsite?) and Chester has improved the 175 reliability as well. I find the way Siemens operate a very effective way as well.

Barrow Hill? ;)

To be fair the suggestion of Newton Heath was made tongue-in-cheek but they do manage to prove that you can in fact polish t*rds!
Ardwick won several golden spanners for the 185s but the 350s rather let the side down!
