Trivia: Amusing Things Seen Around The Railways

I just like seeing amusing things around the railways especially when the picture tells the story.. Some signs just don't make sense.
A stop sign just before the buffers at Shrewsbury station. Is there really a choice? Health & safety??

A buffer stop must have an illuminated red (Though sometimes white to avoid confusion on them). Sometimes when they fail a flashing stop board is used instead.

Or there may be a track fault beyond the stop board.

Yes it's platform 5 and 6 at Shrewsbury.

The buffers look a bit twisted as though they have suffered collision damage, perhaps the stop sign is there as an added protection?

Looks like the buffers have been pushed back by a collision.

Sleeper over the tracks and stop board, at the correct stopping point, are commonly used in that situation.
