Working at Carshalton till 1 pm Sunday, then need to find a quickish way of getting from Wallington area to Fleet for a show at The Harlington. Due to the engineering works and replacement buses, putting East Croydon to Fleet into a journey planner throws up conplicated routes with multiple changes that will take around three hours. Support is due on at 6:30 and main act around 7:15, so probably won’t leave the venue much before say 9.00pm, and need a quick way home as I have another 6am shift on Monday….looks like my best bet is to get an SL7 to Kingston, run round to Surbiton and pick up a train from there, unless anyone has any better suggestions.

Edit: an update after some searching around and a question or two.

I’ve now got the running time for the main act as being 19:30-21:30. If I put Fleet-East Croydon, departing after 21:30, into a journey planner I get 22:57-02:06. However, if I break the journey down into segments I find the following:

Fleet-Woking shows a train at 21:57, arriving at 22:15.

Woking-Clapham Junction shows trains at 22:30 (arriving 23:16), 22:43, and 22:56.

Clapham Junction-East Croydon shows trains at 23:22 and 23:39 (arriving 23:56).

Minimum connection time at Woking is 5 minutes, and at Clapham Junction is 10 minutes. So why can’t the planners find 21:57-23:56 as an option for Fleet-East Croydon (which would include mct at both Woking and Clapham)?
