Last Thursday I travelled from Rome to Lausanne on 9am departure from Rome due Milan 11.59 to connect with 12.23 from Milan to Lausanne. Train from Rome was over 20 minutes late with the result that all I saw of the 12.23 was its tail lights disappearing into the distance.
Next available connection resulted in arrival in Lausanne 3 hours later than booked.
My tickets had been booked by a travel agent as two separate tickets, i.e. split-ticket.
Trenitalia offer 50% compensation for journeys delayed by over 120 minutes.
I have asked the travel agent to obtain this for me, it is in excess of 100 Euros.
I wonder what chance of success.... I await developments.
