I’m booked for the 1130 King’s Cross - Edinburgh on LNER on Monday. According to the updated timetable, it will still run however is subject to change and extended delays.

I can’t go later in the week as it’s the end of my holiday and I need to get home. I’ve arrived in London today from France via Eurostar and was planning to spend tomorrow here. Would it be a better idea to switch to a train tomorrow instead? Or should I stick with Monday and just hope for the best?

I’m lost as to what to do on this one. Seems like this could be the journey from hell no matter how I slice it. But I can’t just stick around in London and also will not do a journey where I’m standing for more than 2 hours in heat and with bulky luggage, nearly got heatstroke from that in France last week.

I would go tomorrow if you are able. You are pretty much guaranteed speed restrictions that time on Monday on the ECML before you throw in any potential damage to the infrastructure causing further disruption.
