I've been wondering this for a few years: my peak time journey from Queens Park London QPW to Reading Green Park RGP is cheaper if I have a ticket that specifies travel via London only. Any service avoiding London (eg going to Willesden Junction) takes much longer. Can anyone here suggest a reason for that?

Welcome to the forum. Could you upload a picture of what you're seeing, or let us know what the fares are that you're seeing via London vs avoiding London?

From what I can see, it looks like the fares for QPW to RGP are cheaper for all equivalent ticket types if you avoid London.
