Hi,
I would like to get from Wool station to Lulworth ( Lulworth cove) and was wondering if the station has a taxi service on premises or close by ? I've checked and buses are very intermittent so taxi seems the best bet.

Thanks.

There are buses. Doubtless there are taxis in Wool, but I don't think there will be a queue of them waiting for you at the station.

There are also buses from Wareham, but they go via Wool.

Put your route into this and see what it comes out with: Traveline South West :)

Though I haven't been to Lulworth since the mid/ late 90's I have looked up how to get there and seem to recall a bus from Dorchester, I could be wrong though.

You may be lucky and find a taxi outside the station but I doubt there will be all the time or that there will be taxi numbers at the station like at some FGW ones, it’s just not something SWT seen to want to do.

Edit: Oops, great minds think alike with Traveline.

I did it last year, no problem getting a taxi there were a couple waiting outside the station for the train from London and they were arranging extra taxis by radio.
Quite pricey though about £16 to Lulworth cove one way, I walked on the coast path to Weymouth.

There's usually taxis at Wool station as there's good business getting squaddies to Bovington etc. Getting to Lulworth won't be cheap though as it's a fair old way.

Thanks for the info folks.

@ paul1609 A group of us are planning the very same walk from Lulworth Cove along the Jurassic coast line to Weymouth. Wool to Lulworth seems to be walkable distance but the OS map does not show any direct footpaths. We will endeavour to time our arrival to connect with a local bus but only one train an hour stops at Wool so taxi may be the easier option.

If you arrive at Wool Station by train and a Lulworth bus is not available, look for a taxi on the station forecourt, or phone for a taxi :-
