How did you find the interview? How did you find the panel?

Failed mine last month as well.
The panel were ok , the interview itself went smooth , I knew I hadn't answered about 30% of the questions enough in depth . When they ask you to sell yourself I obviously didn't!! Never mind, try again hopefully at the end of the year . Where did you go for ? I was Mach.

Just found out i passed the computer assessments, so waiting to hear the outcome of the MMI. If i passed the paper and computer assessments but fail the Mmi, would i have to resit the whole thing? Or am i safe with the paper and computer assessments now?
Good work.. No, just the MMI I think... if you apply againwithin the 2 years of course... Have faith, you might have passed..

Does anyone have the Taffs Well driver shift pattern? Does this differ significantly from mainline? Saw a post much earlier on but couldn’t get to grips with the shifts. Thanks!

Out of interest, when did you apply /get into the talent pool?

Ive heard on the grapevine any other Chester courses will be next year now.
I initially applied in November, but missed the original assessment dates so was invited to begin the assessment process in February. I then completed my DMI in May.

I applied in September, got through to paper in early January. Did my computer tests and MMI in February on the same day. Had the DMI in early April and got my course start date a week after my DMI results which took a week. It was all conditional on passing back ground checks and references which took literally two days.

Once the ball started rolling it picked up quickly. It just took a little while at the start.

I don't know any other dates but I did get told there is a course in September.

What depot are you based at?

Your timeline is pretty much my timeline, however the earliest I could have started was September

I had an email 3 months ago saying I had been shortlisted for Crewe and that they are checking national insurance numbers and will be in touch with dates. Did anyone else have anything similar, if so have you heard anything since?

I have previously sat and passed some of the tests but believe it was over 2 years ago.

Great to see so many people have got on to courses etc now, hopefully there is still space for the rest of us to live in hope too!

Crewe has a lot of vacancies. What they’re short on, is classroom space to train people! I’m awaiting a start date for a qualified position but not heard anything yet other than the above!

I’m in a similar boat for Crewe, waiting for my paper tests. I’ve been waiting since December. After contacting them they say there are no dates planned for any testing at Crewe.

Hey bud... Thank you for the kind words! I did like that the first thing they said was acknowledging I'd done great to get to this point! But it may as well be the furthest away I've felt haha cus this IS IT!

I did mine last Thursday! Where did you go for yours? Fingers crosssssssed

I applied for crewe but got a place on a course next week in Chester to be based in Chester.

Did my paper tests in January in Chester. Did my computer tests and MMI in Cardiff in February and had my DMI in Crewe in April. I found out that week I had passed.

You should find out in next few days! It's the worst wait till you find out but it was the best call to get. Felt like I had won the lottery.

Good luck mate. Hope you get what you want!!

Oh nice! Yeah they did say if I am successful (& stay with Mach I would be training in Chester!) My only issue is I don't currently live within the distance. I did bring this up in the interview to get the elephant out of the room. They even stated I may be able to speak with HR IF successful & maybe change to Shrewsbury but...

Either way just crossing everything I can that if it falls off I won't miss! I can imagine the feeling to be just like that... Well done bud!

Hi, I just passed the second assessment day and had the MMI in cardiff. How long does it usually take to hear something? (I was the only one who had an mmi that day if that shortens the time frame?) being so close is absolutely shredding my nerves

Obviously everybody might have a different experience but the time between my MMI & hearing a date for my DMI was about 4 weeks. The DMI date was 2 weeks after hearing.

Congrats though. Amazing achievement already!

I guess I’m just worried how it went as it’s the second interview I’ve ever done in my life. Harped on about rules procedures and safety so fingers crossed ‍♂️ I heard back about the paper assessment within five days so am hoping it’s this week. Suspense is killing me!

Any tips for the final interview?
