Hoping that someone can clarify this, I’ve read earlier in this thread that if you pass the paper tests but fail the computer ones you only need sit the computer ones again if you reapply as the paper ones remain valid for 2 years? Is this correct ? Passed all the past ones last may but failed the computer ones back in July

Found out today I passed MMI.. Big relief! Just the last real hurdle of DMI to go, waiting on a date to be emailed to me now.

Good luck. Just keep MMI answers handy and do some company research on past / current / future things and you can’t go far wrong. PM if you need any other help

Same here, not heard anything since though. Will you be doing all the tests? X
Yes, last time I even tried them was 5 or so years ago. Not sure which ones I would have to do to be honest. Group Bourdon / Error finding / Observation. Not sure which ones TfW do. Been practising everything. Last time I did it the OPC tests were done at home but not sure until I get assessment email.

Yeah I’m also not sure. I’m in date for some but not sure which ones TFW use. Time will tell I suppose.

Hi. The salary, is it as straight forward as trainee salary to full salary once qualified ? If so, when does the trainee salary increase to full? Thanks. (Just doing some budgeting lol!)

Start of on trainee. Once you pass out which takes 9 months to 12 months you go up to 90%

Then after 2 years its 100%

Lots of ifs and buts going on at the moment with that, but stick to the above and you'll be OK

Is it acceptable to apply for two jobs at the same time with Tfw ? Do they look down on it and will it affect your chances ? Thanks

Just had the email to say that I’ve got through the shortlisting process for the current campaign.

Just curious to know whether the paper tests I sat last year and passed will be valid for this process as it was the computer test I failed ??

You can apply for two at the same time. However when I sat my dmi one of the questions asked was why I wanted to be a driver and not another profession in the railway industry.

Should be. Email them and make them aware. Accept any dates you get for the tests, even if you turn up and tell them it means youll get a place

Does anyone know how the marking/scoring for the practice software such as those from traineetraindriverinfo compares to the real test?

I’ve purchased the package for the ATAVT test and it seems to mark you down/show the whole answer as incorrect if you miss anything that’s in the picture. Is this the same as the real test as it’s a big ask to to continually get all objects marked down for an image that’s up less than a second?

I understand the need not to mark or guess anything you cannot be completely sure you’ve seen.

No, the real test can be passed by consistently choosing 2-3 objects.

I used that software, just use it to get used to the test and don’t take notice of the scores. The practice section allows you to review answers so I used this a bit too.
