Morning, apologies for jumping in on your conversation and congratulations on your successful DMI. Where is your medical taking place, is it a local area around North Wales or would it be up in Chester again ?

Cheers mate, Chester station

I've gone for Crewe, what about you?

Oh that's good news then, hope it all goes well.
The course for Jan is already booked, but there's 1 position in Feb and 2 in March for Crewe so fingers crossed you get put on one of those courses

I replied to the email with the new dates for computer assessments almost immediately as luckily I was on my phone at the time.

I understand that they have a lot of applicants, but personally I think it's a very unfair method doing 'first come first serve'.

Where I work, I am not allowed my phone. So, it's just sheer luck if I'm on a break and they happen to email.

Was that for the email they sent on Friday? It’d be nice to know how many spaces there are vs applicants still waiting. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

One was also sent for testing at Chester for dates in early January for Stage 1 tests.

TFW test at Chester for North Depots and Cardiff for South Depots

I'm waiting for a paper test slot.
2nd time they sent an email offering one to me, but I was at work and I deal with clients, sometimes for hours so I cant check my emails on my phone (it wouldnt be very professional to say hold on a minute, I need to reply to this email about a new job I want)

Its not that fair where those who work in an office and have access to emails immediately can reply straight away, but I suppose thats life. I replied about 2.5 hours after the email was sent so got no chance.

Hi, did you get offered a start date straight away or were you put into the talent pool first? I found out on Monday that I passed the DMI and have gone into the talent pool awaiting a training course to come up.

Congratulations also and hope your training goes well.
I was given a start date a couple of days after I was told I was in the talent pool.

Congratulations to you too and good luck.

If you haven’t got a date within 4 minutes then I’d be surprised.

The whole first come first served system is really strange. I thought they would have scored the initial application forms and then offered places for Paper Assessments based on the scores.

I can never reply to my emails that quickly as I don’t have access to my phone whilst at work. I’d be amazed if I get offered a date…
Not had any response from them yet. I've already missed 2 assessment dates due to work commitments. So this would be the first assessment dates that I'm available.

Well done, the wait is harder than the MMI.

On pins myself, had my medical Monday. Waiting for the call for the next steps, contract etc.

I agree completely… The wait to find out the results of all stages is horrendous and the worst part of the process.

I’ve got my medical in Jan with a provisional start date of the end of Feb

Congratulations it’s an experience to get this far lol.

Medical was quick 40 minutes in and out. The clinician said I had passed there and then. Won’t believe it until I see that contract though

That’s good to hear mate

I’m in a railway job at the moment that requires a medical so don’t have many worries about it, but like you still won’t feel comfortable until I’ve passed and signed a contract

Has anyone else that got offered written tests on Friday heard back? I replied after 20 minutes and not heard anything. If so do you get an email or letter to confirm?

Found out last Friday that was successful and was placed in talent pool, I applied for Chester.
Just wondering if anyone else who applied for Chester has got through to the talent pool or have been given a start date and medical?

I’m in the same boat as you, passed final Intv, found out last Friday, placed into the talent pool and now waiting for a medical date.
Congratulations.

I replied to the Jan 2023 part 1 tests about two hours after I'd had the email. Not heard either way yet, but there we go. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.
